We are situated in Rural Central Hawke's Bay, 60 minutes from Havelock North, and 130 minutes from either Napier or Palmerston North Airports. The closest townships are Porangahau (15 minutes), Waipukurau (25 minutes), and Waipawa (30 minutes). The nearest beach is Te Paerahi (Porangahau Beach).

By Car: All roads leading to Wallingford are sealed, with the driveway to the Homestead being gravelled. We are located 60 minutes from Havelock North and 80 minutes from Napier. Wellington is a 3.5-hour drive along the SH1 & SH2 route.
By Helicopter: There is the option to land directly on the Wallingford grounds. A scenic flight from Napier Airport costs approximately $3500. Contact Aroha Helicopters at www.arohahelicopters.com for more information.
By Plane: The nearest airport is Waipukurau Airfield for light aircraft. Both Palmerston and Napier Airports are within a 1.5-hour drive.
By Taxi Service: Wallingford does offer a guest service subject to availability. Contact us for more information or Executive EV Transfers on 021 025 87832. -
Check-in is from 3 pm to 7 pm unless prior arrangements are made.
Check-out is between 7 am and 10 am (11 am on public holidays) unless prior arrangements have been made. A late check-out fee may apply. -
Dining at Wallingford is a 14-seat fine dining experience with a tasting menu of produce mainly sourced from local farmers and growers. Reservations are available Thursday-Saturday based on a wait-list scenario. Prices range from $130 to $150 per person for a 9-course degustation.
Dinner service begins at 6:30 pm for a 7 pm sit-down. All guests are served at the same time. -
At Wallingford, all menus are set. Dependant on the night you are dining with us, you receive either a 9 course degustation or a menu of the day which consists of 4 small plates, a shared main with accompanying sides and a dessert.

A wine pairing option is available for $130 per person, with carefully selected wines matched to the dishes. We also offer wines by the glass, cocktails, beer, cider, spirits, and non-alcoholic options.

Due to our licensing requirements, we are a strict non-BYO venue. No off-licensed alcohol can be consumed at Wallingford.

We are unable to accommodate vegan menus or fully dairy-free options. Please advise us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking via email at info@wallingford.co.nz.

Restaurant cancellations can only be made by emailing us. Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of dining will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Wallingford is primarily an adult retreat, but arrangements can be made when suites or the house are booked exclusively. Please contact our team for inquiries.

Due to our licensing, there is a strict no-BYO alcohol policy. Alcohol service is from 12 pm to 10:30 pm.

Unfortunately, there are no guest cooking facilities.

Breakfast is served from 8:30 am to 9:30 am and includes 2 dishes, freshly baked sourdough, fresh cold-pressed juice, coffee, and house-made preserves and butter.

Freshly baked cakes, biscuits, and savoury items are available for guests to enjoy at no additional charge.

Each room has a Nespresso machine and a selection of loose-leaf organic teas. French press coffee is also available using beans from First Hand Coffee. A limited Barista/Espresso offering incurs an additional charge.

Please respect quiet time in the house between 11 pm and 6 am. Common areas should be vacated by midnight unless you have booked exclusive use of the house.

Wallingford is monitored 24/7 by CCTV, motion sensors, and security operators. All rooms are fully lockable.
